In the spirit of helping our communities, environment, and our guests, we have recently taken strides to revamp our cleaning and sanitizing processes. Our number one priority is the health and safety of our guests and team members while taking precautions and ensuring that our products are environmentally friendly. Recently, we have taken strides by installing and utilizing the Stabilized Aqueous Ozone (SAO) system.
This system is an effortless, harmless, and more sustainable way to clean and sanitize hard surfaces by converting general-purpose chemical cleaners into Stabilized Aqueous Ozone. SAO works through a reaction called oxidation. The system breaks down organic matter into smaller particles and suspends it in solution. Additionally, SAO exceeds Green Seal Standards as an industrial cleaner. By using SAO, we are preventing millions of liters of toxic chemicals from being emptied into landfills, streams, rivers, and groundwater every month. Since implementing this system last month, we have been able to replace two of our previous cleaning solutions, and continue to test the effectiveness compared to other commercial cleaners.
Not only does this system help reduce the number of chemicals that end up in our water, but the system also claims that it uses 90% less water, reduces plastic packaging by 83% and cardboard by 72%, and reduces chemicals of concern by 70%. Additionally, it eliminates germs, odors, stains, mold, and mildew and kills viruses and bacteria.
Executing measures such as replacing our cleaning and disinfectant systems allows us to continue to work towards a more sustainable legacy. We strive to use our business as a force for good and to continually improve our business for the benefit of all our stakeholders. This is a journey that never ends.
